Diving and Dredging for Gold (Diversification Series)
The California Gold Rush began to decline about 1865, but the magical lure of gold has never declined. Today, modern scuba diving equipment and techniques make it possible to recover gold inaccessible to the original, hearty, hardworking gold miners. This book gives personal accounts of how to do it, where to look, and the equipment that brought the author the best results.

When I recived the book from my Great Grand Uncle who was the author of this book I had no idea what to percieve of it. I the only thing i had on this book was that it was written by the man who litterally invented scuba diving. Thats right Dick Anderson invented and patented the modern air tube fittings for the modern scuba diving equipment. It unforntately was not patented but given to Healthways scuba company and in the end the only complimented by the president of Anchor Hose and Coupleing company. I read the book for the first time and found out that my GG Unlcle was the one of the first profesional scuba divers of the nation and held the 27 Los Angeles diving instructor card this meant he was one of the first pros of the buisness and of the nation. He not only moved us out of the hard hat age of swimming but would follow a carrer of hollywod and of adventures of the quest for gold. This book only explains one of the many pathways that he took in his carrer. In the end we not only find out the legalities and dos and do nots of Dredging but we listen to his incredibly tall but true tales of his expiriance dredging for gold in the REGOLD rush of 1957 with his partners who in at the end of their adventure had earned well over $500,000. He even puts some of the family charm by adding his uniqe collection of perfectly round rocks with the phrase “if the round rock business ever gets off the ground, the author has a head start. This was only the begining of the many adventures that would be captured by pages and film. With his 60mm camera(his first color camera to go underwater) he filmed the educational, scilent and hilariously funny discovery of the Winfeild Scott. The only way to listen to these movies and really accept their skits is the keen naration from my GG Uncle. My family is starting a movement to get his videos recorded with him and his friends that were in the original film but for now if you plan to watch one (i believe he has copys and the original) youll have to invite him too. I hope that this book help you in your quest for gold. It shure set mine. This book give you the new technique that is still used today for searching for gold. It gives you ideas on camping equipment and a way to make a money operation to a family fun vacation with gold operation. I may be young but hopefully i be dredging as soon I can get to California. Good luck Dredging young or old diver. May the fair luck that befell Dick Anderson fall on you and your gold be plenty.
