Well, I found an old 1946 Nickel (U.S) while I was metal detecting in the park, and I have no idea how to figure out what model it is, (d/d, or whatever else) Can anyone help me figure this out?
Believe it or not most Jefferson five cent (nickel) coins are not worth all that much, and yours is no exception. There might be a mint mark to the right of the building on the reverse: D (Denver), S (San Francisco), or plain (Philadelphia), but none of them would be worth more than 50 cents even in great shape. There is a 1946-D/over Horizontal D which could be worth hundreds of dollars. I hope that helps.
