   Yes, they are both well known companies, although I don’t believe American Motors exists anymore.

   Yeah – AMC made vehicles and Briggs & Stratton made many small engine machines.

   Yes. American motors no longer exists and the B&S keys were most likely for an old riding mower. I can’t remember but I thing American use to make the Hudson and maybe even the Studabaker.
