I have to argue this in class and i’m not having luck finding info.! plz help me!
my job is to ARGUE this i know they need 2 be legal that is why i am having trouble w/ this help plz!! thanks!

It would be a hassle, because they would probably detect things like jewelery or whatever else the student has that’s metal.

You have a tough job! I think it would be much easier to argue why they should be legal.
The best argument you could probably make is that it could be considered an infringement on your rights. It is considered a type of personal search. Look up the Fourth Amendment or Bill or Rights for more information.
Other arguments would be that it is time consuming, and could be embarrassing to some people who have jewelry or piercings.

Illegal? I believe they should be legal, plain and simple. I do believe though that the state should foot the bill for the detectors if the school cant afford them.
