Invitation Cards, I already made these:

Boys: A jack in the box type thing with teeth sticking out and a tail, a gloved hand handle, open it: an invite card pops out on a spring made of paper, and in a separated flap inside there is a packet of exploding candy (like pop rocks).

Girls: A jack in the box with a princess tiara flap, wings drawn on the side of the box, a star handle, open it: an invitation card pops out, and packet of exploding candy aswell.

Do you think losing a treasured family member early on in life (as a young child) can affect you later on?

I lost my paternal grandfather when I was just 3 years old, he died aged just 56 from liver cancer, he was a Royal Marine and in the SAS and lived a full life, smoked like a trooper and drank like a fish. The thing is I’m 25 now and think about him ALL the time, I have very few memories of him but they are strong ones, I know he was just so proud when me, his first grand-daughter and then my sister came along (he never got to meet my brother). I just so wish I could have him here now to speak to him about his days in the forces and be close to him…I went to his grave with my 5 yr old son the other week (which is the first time in years) and I just cried. It’s so strange because as just a 3 year old I didn’t really know any different but now, as an adult some 22 years later I feel grief and longing for this man I never knew properly. My maternal grandfather died a few years ago and it didn’t affect me one bit, he wasn’t close to any of his grandchildren and I have more happy memories of the other one than him (even though I was only 3).
Does anyone else have any similar experiences to this, if not, why do you think this is affecting me so much at such a later stage in life? I really miss him.

Books like National Treasure?

I was just wondering if there are any books out there like National Treasure 1 or 2? I am 17 years old so i don’t want any books that are for kids or teens, i want adult books. I already read Clive cussler books and love them, but i wanted to read a good treasure hunting book, like the National Treasure movies. My dad won’t let me read Dan Brown, so please don’t reccomend any of his books.

Thanks

I have never done a treasure hunt before, but would like to do one for my grandkids.?

I need help. Any suggestions for young kids between 5-8 years old for a treasure hunt in my backyard? They can be helped by adult family members, but would like them to have a really fun time searching for something & then finding a treasure of something for each of them. I’ve never done one of these or a scavenger hunt & really need some ideas of how they are done. Any one who has done one for a party ……I’d appreciate your input. Thanks so much. I want to make a special summer memory before the kids go back to school.
