Is this a good metal detector?

I would like to buy my husband a metal detector for father’s day but don’t know anything about them or how to pick one. I would like a beginner model – but at the same time not something that he is going to outgrow too soon. A local sporting goods company has one that normally sells for 129.99 – they have on sale for 89.99 plus a 20 rebate making it 69.99. Bounty Hunter Tracker IV Metal Detector. The add says “Will detect in extreme ground conditions, including highly mineralized sites, with no need to adjust circuitry”. Anyone know anything about this or how to pick one?
