How do you know where you can dredge for gold in California?

In other words, you just can’t park your car on the side of the road and start dredging in the nearest creek, can you?? So, where can you “discover” a new dredge spot to claim your own? Do you just turn off the interstate and go off roading until you find a spot you like??

are guns or firearms allowed in an airport parking lot?

lets say, you are going to the airport for a certain reason. can you leave your handgun in your car even though you have a license and the car will be outside or even in the parking garage? is that ok or is it prohibited? even if it is prohibited and you still bring it and leave it in your car. is there a metal detector or something similar that will find it and get you in trouble?

lost car keys?

I just bought a used car from a private seller who lives about an hour away. 96 Jetta. I drove it home and lost the key that night. Ive searched everywhere for it, even with a metal detector.
The thing is i only have the titled that is signed over to me. i dont have it inspected so i cant get it registered or tags. A locksmith wont replace the key unless i have registration in my name!
What do i do?
The title doesnt have my name on it its only signed over to me. I guess i could check out some more locksmiths.
