Where are good places for kids to use metal detectors and dig things up (besides our backyard)?

We can think of lots of places to find things, but we also need to be allowed to dig there. Our backyard doesn’t seem to have anything. She doesn’t really want to find anything valuable, she just wants to find something … metal!!!
