THE ACID TEST–Rub the coin or metal on the testing stone. -After doing this it will leave a gold streak on the stone. -Leave a drop of the 22K solution on the scratch made. *If the solution dissolves your scratch on the stone this indicates that the object is less than 22K gold or not even gold at all. *Should the solution leave your scratch intact, your object is 22K or greater in purity. *If the acid takes a while to dissolve the metal and leaves rusty material behind, it is likely your test sample is real gold but is less than 22k pure. *If the acid solution leaves your scratch intact, your coin is either 22k or 24k gold.
