I had a date planned for this past saturday but I broke the date, haven’t met the guy yet, because a past boyfriend of mine, one whom I still love very much, called and made plans to see me this weekend. we live in two different states. he flew out. we sealed our committment to each other with white gold bands, one for him and one for me. it was a wonderful weekend. and I am inlove. I did not mean for this to happen. I thought the relationship was finished with my ex because he simply dissappeared without calling or anything for five months. the relationship had been erratic, so therefore I was doing my best to move forward, trying to JUST date. But as it turns out, with much discussion, we made our relationship official. It seems that my boyfriend could never stay completely away, always returned. He’d done it before. But i feel sure, it’s for real this time. His past struggles contributed to his erratic choices. But I am happy. My question: how do I break the date once again with this new guy, but for good this time? we’d rescheduled for this upcoming saturday, but I cannot go now. I am now happily committed. He text me today, to sort of confirm it. and also to get pictures of my friend whom I was going to have come along for my date’s cousin. Now, i think everything is off, even the cousins prospect. How do I tell this new guy what happened, that everything is off? and what about his cousin? do i still pass my friend’s number along to him? I am mortified. thanks.
