The alleged Yamashita gold treasure, is this just a myth or a hidden truth?

Tomoyuki Yamashita, the so called ‘tiger of Malaya’ during WW2, according to history books is the one who transported lots of valuable goods and items from the Southeast Asian countries to the Philippines and some in Japan before the end of WW2. According to the book written by Sterling Seagrave and Peggy Seagrave, that thousand of gold has been transferred from Singapore defense base of the Japanese Army to the Philippines and some back to Japan.

But according to some analyse, “By 1943 the Japanese were no longer in control of the seas… It doesn’t make sense to bring in something that valuable here(Philippines) when you know it’s going to be lost to the Americans anyway. The more rational thing would have been to send it to Taiwan or China.”

To me some of it is a myth, but only half truth. Some of them could be valuable but not necessarily gold for that matter. How can one ship or a battle ship would bring lots of gold during a war to another place only be sunk by Americans.
What I am asking from you people is your own opinion not giving me website to look for because I do not need to look for it because I already did, what I need is your own opinion and analysis on these matter, think for yourself not giving me website to look for because I already did. my friend found an old gold mine in NV. on his property?

I.m looking for good info. from gold hunting hobbiests in Nv. that actually hunt gold today. My friend bought about 40 acers near Dayton NV. He is by comstock, gold hill area. He only recently started looking around last week. He took his lap top with him and was able to show me live feed of it using a web cam. There is old iron stove parts ,etc. laying around the mouth of the horizontal mine hole. The mine is about 5 and a half feet high by about 5 ft. wide and is dug back about 100 ft. or so.Lots of old broken bottles etc. that shows there was a camp there back in the day. He followed an old dried up creek bed that led straight up to the mine. We want to go with metal detectors and “dry sluice” and look in and around the old mine for gold that could still be there. I am currantly researching as much info. as I can on line about gold, that area of NV. etc. We are looking for very solid advice from some old timers that could help us in maximizing our efforts.
