where can i prospect for gold (lots of it) in victoria, australia?

i am wanting to go gold prospecting in Victoria, Australia, and I know of places to look at and go ‘hunting’ for it, but i was wondering does anybody know of any good spots to find gold? im looking to find about 5 – 10 ounces. Also, do i need a prospecting license to dig anywhere thats not my land? like in a government park or something?

Is added security “after the fact” just plain pointless?

That Omaha mall has added security following the shooting a few days ago. What’s the point? Why do people think adding security after the fact helps anything? Nothing major might ever happen at that mall for another hundred years! Shouldn’t security just be smarter instead of bloated? 9/11 made the government very paranoid, but I say instead of hassling paying customers, they should figure out what the real problems are and how to spot them most efficiently. In fact, barricading the pilot’s doors was probably really all that was needed to be done.

All malls should have some sort of metal detector system going on, probably just random checks or pat downs. There are so many gangbangers that come that it will become necessary anyway.

Is the War on Drugs creating unregulated drug dealer markets in our schools?

The U.S. government’s most recent 2005 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) reported that nationwide over 800,000 adolescents ages 12-17 sold illegal drugs during the previous 12 months preceding the survey. The 2005 Youth Risk Behavior Survey by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported that nationwide 25.4% of students had been offered, sold, or given an illegal drug by someone on school property. The prevalence of having been offered, sold, or given an illegal drug on school property ranged from 15.5% to 38.7% across state CDC surveys (median: 26.1%) and from 20.3% to 40.0% across local surveys (median: 29.4%). –All this despite tens of billions of taxpayer dollars spent on the War on Drugs, which has crippled our public schools by diverting tax dollars from teachers and books to costly security programs, such as random drug testing, campus police and undercover investigators, hallway video cameras and metal detectors, and after-school programs

Does anyone agree that it feels as if the government is slowly taking one freedom after another?

What will it be like in 10 years.

1. all transactions will be via a card …cash eliminated.
2. camaras on every street watching you
3. GPS metal detectors buried all over the nation to track people with any kind of metal
4. Police state
5. anyone who resist the movement will be detained in our new dissident camps

Are we in the presidency terms that will be later labeled as goofs and mistakes?

The latest report is that “US nuclear ‘treasure map for terrorists’ posted in error on government website. Obama administration admits mistake, but denies release of information threatens national security.”

Do you recall as many goofs and mistakes with any other President in the USA? Are there any big goofs that other Presidents made? My memory does not go all the way to Washington :) but I honestly do not recall so many weird goofs, and also so many nominated candidates that had unpaid taxes. Please let me know any big goofs for any President of the US, and let’s leave the wars out (Korean, Vietnam, Kuwait and Afghanistan/Iraq altogether).
