Crushed gold and quartz tailing pile

In June 2009 we decided to investigate an area near our mineshaft and mill that had a hollow sound. Upon digging, we realized that the sound wasn’t from a buried structure, but of finely ground quartz and gold rubbing together like sand on a beach.
