PREFACE TO SECOND EDITION

The kind reception given to ” Prospecting for Gold and
Silver” by the mining and prospecting fraternity, as well as the
general public, has made necessary a second edition. In this
we have added to the text sketches of some of the principal
prospecting regions of North America, which, besides illustra-
ting the principles presented in the work, will, with their maps
and illustrations, prove useful guides to prospectors who may
venture into those districts. Having extended the scope of the
work, we have accordingly given it a more general title, namely :
” Prospecting for Gold and Silver in North America”.

Respectfully,
