where can i prospect for gold (lots of it) in victoria, australia?

i am wanting to go gold prospecting in Victoria, Australia, and I know of places to look at and go ‘hunting’ for it, but i was wondering does anybody know of any good spots to find gold? im looking to find about 5 – 10 ounces. Also, do i need a prospecting license to dig anywhere thats not my land? like in a government park or something?
cheers!

Recovering Relics Episode #22 – “North East Treasure Hunting – Park Hunt”

Today I had another great day of metal detecting. I started off metal detecting in my yard. The first thing I dug was an old knife from 1923. A few feet behind that, was another pull tab signal, and it actually turned out to be a 10 KT gold plated signet ring. It had a cursive “L” on the front. I then went down to The Beach House to metal detect at the beach. I found a bunch of copper pennies, one of them was a 1959-D, a cool key, and some trash. I then went to the park where I had a peaceful hunt and I found my 100th coin of the year. I found a whole bunch of coins, and I found my first foreign coin! It was a 1958 Canadian penny. The park is being cleaned up, grass is being replaced, new playground, so this is good news, the park should be much more huntable in the summer! I had a great day metal detecting!

metal detecting a park area for coins.

I’m looking for some ideas on planning a treasure hunt or rally around our mobile park. Where do I look?

I want to set up clues and have people bike around the park to different destinations until they reach their final goal for a party at the end. I need some ideas to make up clues for puzzles for them to solve. They will working in groups of four and all starting at the same location.

For sports venues(coliseum, stadium, ball park etc.) do they have metal detectors?

I know they dont in the Bay area, i was wondering if this was a common thing for all sports venues across the country. because i think there needs to be one because it is relatively easy to conceal a weapon for people are only “subject to search”
