Where are the places that I can pan gold in Ontario? How do I prospect gems and gold in Ontario? I’ve heard of Marmora that’s it. How about Thunder Bay? Sudbury? Timmins?
I’ve been in BC 2 years and moving back home, and still have a huge itch for gold panning and rock hounding, but Ontario seems lame for that.

my hubby picked up a green slab (comparative to a slate rock) of rock, with “gold” speckles on it, almost like monkeys gold/ fools gold…
we grew up in PA,so were used to finding that fools gold, but weve only lived here a few yrs, and dont know what comes out of the ocean, i know, many possibilities.
and no, its not enough to , if its “real”, to retire. just wondering…. weve been finding some real neat stuff lately after theyve dredged here, a fossilized echinoid, fossil auger type shell, a .50 caliber bullet, etc…. anyways not to stray from my ?… gold?
