he says “license and registration” and the driver responds “was I doing something wrong?” the cops then says “I NEED YOUR LICENSE AND REGISTRATION, AND FOR YOU TO KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT UNLESS I ASK YOU SOMETHING” after giving this to him he goes back to his car, and after 5 minutes returns and says “step out of the vehicle” and you ask “Can you please tell me what the problem is?” the cop responds “You sure don’t know when to shut up do you?” and yanks the man to the side and frisks him. He cuffs the guy tells him to sit on the curb. The officer then starts to search the vehicle. After finding nothing, the cop comes over and yanks the man up, causing his wrists to bleed, and shoves him against the vehicle, and says “What are you doing out at 2 AM? “the guys says he was going home from the hospital because his wife gave birth 20 hours ago to get some sleep” The cops says “that’s crap, now I am going to give you one last chance before your head puts a thousand dollar dent in your yuppie beemer” the guy then says to look on his dash where there is a parking tab from the ****** memorial hospital with the date and time being 16 minutes ago. The cop looks at it and says “this means s*** to me, and shoves his head onto the hood holding his head on the freezing metal. 2 minutes later another cop car shows up with a dog…they search the car with the dog and the dog never barks, sits, or shows any signs of detecting anything. The cop comes back and says “the dog is smarter than you” then puts him into the back seat of his cruiser and takes him “downtown” where he is booked. He asks the lady what he is being charged with, and she says possession and intent to distribute a controlled substance. He spends the night in jail, and does not get a phone call. By 1PM the next day an officer comes to get him and says he can get a cab and go to ******** and pay a $200 fee for towing and he is free to go with a speeding ticket. the guys says “that is impossible I was pulled over 100 feet on the interstate onraon-rampcould no way be doing 85 MPH in 100 feet!”

This was a friend of mine and I am thinking he has a lawsuit on his hands for taking him away from his wife in the hospital, costing him another $7000 for another nigh there, never asked him about searching his vehicle, he has NEVER done drugs, and was never read his rights after even being refused knowknowledge what he was being charged with. According to my friend this bitterness started when the officer saw a picture of him and his wife. She is a blonde and white, he is black, graduated from MIT and an engineer for a major “Texas Instrument” corporation.

What do you think?
1. He definitely has a lawsuit, and had no right to do this, and this fake cop wannabe should lose his job.
2. This shouldn’t have happened, but mistakes happen, let it be
3. He married a white woman, and knew the risks in society going in. So what if he didn’t get his rights read, it’s not like we don’t all know them? Police have the right to do whatever they need to…If you aren’t doing anything wrong, what do you have to worry about??
4. War on drugs means we need to be proactive. Expensive car and black man at 2 AM? Hello, he’s working the streets, not to mention most don’t even legally own a BMW. Face the facts, drug dealers are 90% black, so this makes perfect sense, and the cop is a hero for keeping us safe from them.

Which answer would you choose. (FYI These are some of the responses I have received when I asked about 25 people at work who do not know him)
I think you missed the part about this being an actual situation, not some creative writing. I feel sorry for you that you think you know everything, because I’m sure every around you must role their eyes when you walk in. “oh great, here comes mr. know-it-all” For the other person, yes he was still in visiting hours which are 24 hours for the father. They even have make-shift beds in that hospital which I know because 1 year later I was there for my son. He was allowed to be with her all night, but because she was being discharged at noon the next day, he went home to get their other car which had the car seat and get a few hours sleep. (those couchbeds are HORRIBLE) So once she was asleep he left. The cop saw the photo of his wife because he handed it accidentally with his license which is was stuck to. The 90% thing, and all of those options where opinions from the 25 people I work with whom I told them about this. FYI, he did sue, he won settlement, and 2 cops were suspended.
