What if you could encourage someone?

Imagine with me, if you will… that you daily carry a little story clipped from a newspaper – or a little flyer that’s encouraging – or a favorite touching story – tucked away in your walet or purse.

Imagine that you are riding on a bus, or standing in a grocery line or waiting in a doctors office… and you see someone.

This someone seems hurt, or lost… or maybe you overhear a part of their conversation and you are now aware their heart is breaking…. and it occurs to you that the precious little story you’ve been toting around would probably bring them a little comfort.

Imagine you have the courage to hand it to them – even if you only walk away afterwards.

What would your little treasure say?

What one message would you leave in order to touch a stranger’s hurting heart? Can you share that whole message here?

Peace.

Did you have metal detectors at your school?

When I was in high school, in Columbine no less, I never had someone search me or scan me for weapons, such practices were unheard of because the kids I went to school with were not killers, oh we got into the occasional fist fight, but no mother had to cry herself to sleep because her baby died at school. What about you? Did metal detectors make you feel safer? What school more like prison? Or were you like me and didn’t have to go through that. Thoughts? Tell Matticus he WANTS to KNOW>

Hypothetical: Take marajuana on plane…domestic flight….?

Not that anyone should or would but if someone, hypothetically speaking, wanted to take a “bud” with him on a plane, going from one US city to another US city, could it be done?

I was told, if one hypothetically wanted to, could seal it in plastic wrap (tightly to avoid scent) and put it between your legs (taint), under tight underwear, it could be done. Possible? The metal detector-like apparatus that sits next to the conveyor belt, could that detect it? What about the wand the security officer has, could that detect it? I’ve never seen dogs around on these flights….hypothetically speaking of course….
Rajesh K, what scanner, the aparatus I walk through after putting my shoes and carry on luggage on the conveyor? That thing is an x-ray machine..? If no, are you sure they have those machines for domestic flight? Since we’re hypothetically speaking here, about 1/2 oz will show in scanner if between my legs, btwn nuts and ass…hypothetically speaking of course…gross I know but I heard it works..LOL..

Random Question: Why would someone need earplugs that are “metal detectable”?

I need to buy some earplugs for work and I happened upon a site that sells a line of earplugs that they say can be detected by a metal detector?

If you work in an industry that commonly uses earplugs will you please explain why someone would need these kinds of earplugs?

Metal detecting… would this be possible?

Ok, let’s say I know an area of land, maybe 10 square miles or so, where someone buried a lot of gold coins back in the 1800′s. And no one has ever been able to find them because he died in an accident and took his secret with him.

How does a metal detector work?
Would it be possible to build a very large metal detector to scan large areas at once to look for the coins?
Or would there be a better way?
