Your son is a boxing phenom at 19. Undefeated in the amateurs, Gold Medal winner, called the greatest prospect since Cassius Clay, Leonard, and De La Hoya. Who would you pick to train him?

My son is 8 months old and I have always nursed and/or rocked/bounced him to sleep. (I know — bad — but I lost my first 2 children so I don’t take a single moment for granted and have always treasured these cuddly moments with my son who otherwise never stops wiggling and moving long enough to be cuddled!) Anyway, now that he’s getting older, it seems like he can’t fall asleep while nursing anymore — he prefers to just be laid down in his crib when he’s very sleepy and he goes to sleep on his own after babbling and turning over a few times. I’m happy that he can self-soothe but a little disappointed that our cuddly times are coming to an end! When did you stop nursing and/or rocking yours to sleep?

Hello to all that have opened. I am planning my son’s third birthday we are in FL and his party is outdoors in January. I’ve rented a bounce house, plan on serving lunch and having a treasure hunt and other activities. A thought occurred to me this weekend in regards to what time to start the party and nap times. My son tends to not nap on the weekends and is full energy all day saturday and sunday, so I guess that is why I never really put much thought into it. So I was talking to another mom and she was saying to have it 11 am this way when 1 or 2 rolls around they’ll be ready for nap…BUY I think with what I have planned two hours might not give enough party time. I guess what I am looking for is advice on what you have done for your child’s birthday? if your toddler were at a party from say 11am to 2 or 3pm with no nap would you be OK with that, would they? What are your thoughts? Oh, also, as one of the activities I thought of having the kids decorate their own cupcakes — bad idea or good idea? thank you so much for your help. Melanie
