I’m considering writing a story that’s been plaguing me for some time. Every now and then I try to get myself to drop it, because the plotline for it is meant to be very mysterious and complex; it would take a lot of research to make it happen. It’s a fantasy epic, about a treasure hunt and so far the main character is a witch. Rather than have her companions be witches, I thought I’d look into other mythical beings (with human like looks or qualities) that can be used.
I wanted to change it up since so many movies, books and shows deal with “witches.
What other human-like mythical/magical beings are there besides witches and wizards?
I’ve thought of elves, like in the Lord of the Rings, or maybe there’s some sort of human like water sprite.
