  14. Okay, from others answers, I get a different idea.

X – may be referring to a traffic sign, that is railroad crossing. It almost mark the spot, so it’s referring to the train track itself.

    It’s not near the ocean.
If talking about Navigation, compass always points to North. May be a northbound train.

It should then be far away from the casino, but you can still probably see it or tell where it is from that point.

May be it’s near the industrial area, where lights are very bright.
There, you can see a pole of some kind, maybe not too clear.
Current, maybe winds or smoke from train, steam engine.

    8. .. No idea.

If you head south bound, you’d be off the course. the twins maybe referring to 2 of something that looks identical. If you see it, you’re heading the wrong direction.

Bridge, walk around and look for the 4 board.

Five leagues – approximately 15 miles from base, may be 15 miles from the main station.

So, look for train track that goes north, not near the ocean, have casino nearby but out of sight, the part where it’s surrounded by factory or mining industrial.
Look around the 15-20 miles from the stations. If all those clues are met, and you see a bridge, that must be the one.
