What do my constant dreams of the ocean mean?

So a recurring theme in my dreams is the ocean. A lot of the time I have to cross it, but in an odd way, like on a roller coaster that goes underwater so that my bare toes are scraped in the sand at the bottom, Then sometimes it’s a road that I have to follow, but at parts it goes under, but only like 2 or three feet. There are never rails. Once I dreamt of eighteen wheelers just driving across the water.

Sometimes I go to this one beach that is specifically used for “treasure hunting” where it’s roped off into sections and when the tide goes out people walk around looking for trinkets. A lot of it is trash, but sometimes I find neat things. And this beach is part of a park that I visit a lot.

There’s a town that I go to sometimes that is mostly aquatic, floating on the water.

Most of the cities in my dreams are coastal, with rocky cliffs mostly (about 10 feet above the water) with small docks where one can go down to the waters.

So, what does it mean? For the record, I live inland. :)

  1. water is usually associated with feminine, sometimes with a mother. oceans can also mean like a separation, which might mean something to you since you constantly have to cross it.

Water signifies emotion, and the ocean sounds expansive, but shallow. However, you are on a roller coaster and you don’t even have safety rails to protect you.

There is much emotion in your life, and though your waking life is really good, you are overwhelmed by the amount of emotion and by the wild ups and downs you take into emotion. This can hurt you and makes you feel like you are at moments drowning in the momentum of emotion.

The truck driving on the ocean are symbols of the same thing, a crazy way of dealing with emotion causing insecurity and unpredictability..

The treasure hunts; are you trying to only pick out the good parts of these wild interchanges with emotions. In the end most of what remains from your exchages with emotions are trash, sometimes trinkets. This means you aren’t finding a meaningful relationship to your emotional life. This also means you think about your emotions and your unpridictable emotional life, but you aren’t finding it useful.

The town that floats on water is another way to show you feel very insecure emotionally.

A person who feels this way, might have a very dependent personality, or be dependent on something else. And they are realizing how disruptive and fickle this dependency is.
If it is a young persons dream then this may mean that the persons they depend on have unpredictable or chaotic emotions, making you feel like you are on a “wild ride”
