Wow! You really are going all out for her birthday!
I would suggest looking in her closet for the size. Is there an outfit she particularly likes or that you think she looks great in? Use that for your sizing and style guideline.

On the question at hand… I think maybe perhaps you can try looking at some of her other dresses and go see the size…When you get the dress talk to the sales lady and i think you should try to get her measurements.. that would help out alot too! good luck

Dress sizes are usually 2 sizes above whatever her pant size is. You can always bring in a pair of pants to a seamstress and/or dress shop and ask them what size your wife would be.

I would definately check her closet for the size. But the cut of the dress will be just as important. Make sure not to get a tight fit. A-line dresses, or empire waist help cover most issues. Use what she normally wears to help you. You can also ask her friends or family for help. She really is a lucky woman. Good luck.

When you go to buy her a dress, ask for assistance in the women’s section. Tell her how tall she is and what she weighs. When you are picking out a dress, try to incorporate what she likes and similarities of what she has now. I am sure that you will find the perfect one. good luck. As long as you show her she is sexy to you, she won’t even think about her pooch. You sound like a really romantic guy, she is very lucky to have you.

best thing to do is take a picture of her (a recent one) and then go to a store and ask for if they provide a personal shopper. most department stores, or higher end dress store do. they would be the best in helping you out.
otherwise, i’d suggest looking into empire waisted dresses. there are a lot of them on the market right now, so you shouldn’t have too difficult of a problem. they are dresses in which it’s form fitting in the bust, there’s a close fitting band of fabric just below the bustline, then the skirt of the dress flares out. this type of dress will accentuate her breasts while camoflauging her post pregnancy tummy.

try finding a dress that has like a scrunched up fabric in the stomach area…if that makes any sense at all. Take her favorite dress from the closet (that fits and she still wears) and take it with you when you buy her dress and hold the width of both dresses together to see if they are the same. I commend you for going an extra ten miles to make your wife’s birthday momentous.
I think you said she is 5’8″ and 145 pounds. Sounds like a zaftig (pleasingly plump) size 12-14 to me. And let her know that at such a size she remains attractive, pouch and all.

I would not take the chance on a dress. I would rather your last note would send her to a room you’ve rented. One in which you have a sexy outfit lying on the bed. On the nite stand will be 2 glasses, nx to an iced bottle of champagne included with her favorite treat. If she absolutely loves diamonds, then include the necklace as well.

It sounds like a wonderful day. If you can get away with it while she’s at work or out for the day somewhere, take a couple of her favourite outfits (preferably dresses) to the stores you have in mind and speak to the salespeople there. It sounds like you are going through a lot of effort to arrange a lovely day and evening – I sure hope you will be able to handle the results of pampering and spoiling her in this way. ;- ) It might be best for you to ask either a professional shopper to help you, or a girlfriend or sister sworn to secrecy – no need to tell them the entire plan. Pick something in her closet now that fits her the way SHE likes, and make that your starting point. You might pick something out at the store in a colour YOU would like her to wear – separates might be your best bet. You might also pick out something in a colour that makes her feel great. I don’t see make-up mentioned anywhere, perhaps she doesn’t wear any. If she does, the salon where her hair is going to be done may be able to help with that as well. I hope this all goes as planned, be sure to schedule in some extra time in the event of delays. I am certain you will have fun planning all of this, most women can only dream about this kind of a day, you are going to make it a reality for her.

What a marvelous plan! Your wife is going to love this surprise! The dress thing is tricky, because dress sizes can be deceiving. Depending on how the dress is made, a woman may need to take a smaller or larger size. See what I mean? If you take her shopping for a dress beforehand, it may spoil the surprise; but I can’t see how else you’re going to guarantee the size. I wouldn’t want to bring a 3rd party into it, because women just aren’t good at keeping secrets like this, even if you swear them to secrecy.
You’ll have to take her shopping for a dress and shoes. Make it a spur of the moment thing, where you’re walking through the mall and you see a dress you like. Tell her you want to buy it for her, because you think she’ll look nice in it. Of course, she’ll need the shoes to match; so buy the shoes too. If she picks another dress, that’s fine–as long as she’s happy. Then, you can send the flowers to her work and go on with the treasure hunt.
That’s the best I can come up with. Maybe someone has a better idea. I would not bring a 3rd party into it, no matter what. Best wishes and here’s hoping your birthday plan is a success!

Awesome!!! It would probably be best if you could arrange for her to choose her own dress and shoes. That way she’ll be sure to get what she wants and you steer clear of sending her the wrong message. My husband is the greatest guy in the world, but I wouldn’t want him picking out my clothes.
